It's the spoo-spookiest day of Autumn

Happy Halloween!

Morning darklings,

Before every one loses themselves in Santa Claus paraphernalia and reindeer decor and the scents of Christmas, we need to appreciate that today is Halloween! Let us not lose a very good holiday for something that happens in two months (I’m talking to you every store ever).

The hubs and I went on our usual Halloween house tour on Saturday, and we found about half of what we found last year. Some of the houses that we expected to be alive and exploding with unique decorations were dark and ordinary. It's a treat that these people decorate their house just for the collective us.

Still, it shows a sign of the fatigue the horrors have caused that they didn’t this year.

As did the houses that were already decorated for Christmas.

I wonder if that’s partially because of fear of future fatigue, a worry that we as a society will not have spoons to both Christmas shop and decorate in the next few months, so we better start early. Or is it that Halloween is just too dark for where we are now?

I'm not sure, but I know that we can't skip over holidays, let time slip by us like that.

So with that, dear darklings, I want to wish you the happiest of Halloweens! If you spend it watching Christmas movies or hanging lights on your porch, I support you. Personally, though, I’m off to watch Halloween baking shows and 80s horror movies.

you know there’s a board

Until next time, harness the Little darknesses and embrace the Little things.
