It's time to explore the woods

With Joyce

Morning darklings,

The day has arrived! Joyce is out! I am both thrilled and worn out, horrified at how much time has passed and shocked that it’s already today.

This is pulled honey. My first attempt at making anything, so of course I went for the title and a bee. ❤️

I’m writing this just before I send it to you (thus no recording or edit check). Because fatigue.

This has been an unexpectedly long journey. In life and the what’s going on in the world, but also, in the regular bookish ways. From removing a full plot line from the first draft to dozens of books covers to the latest struggle—only a handful of books have arrived. The others haven’t been shipped. It’s been a month. So, I’m stressed.

But like the other “issues”, that doesn’t have to be a huge deal (she tells herself as she stares at the box of books that’s smaller than she expected). I should have enough for the event, at least. If not, there’s always Venmo and a promise of delivery sometime.

The plot change was for the best. The cover is excellent. So I can make this work too. It’s just temporary, anyhow.

Despite a long list of to-dos, I’m going to be moving slowly today. Who know what (if anything) gets done today.

I need to stay in a good mindset. I don’t want to stroll into the first fully solo reading I’ve had since October 2023 in a bad mood. The third ever, it turns out. I haven’t counted all the authors I’ve brought to other readings, but it’s a lot. I’m so pleased by that, but I’ll admit it is nice to have something just for me this time round.

There will be things left undone (though only three people will know), things are already not perfect (though only I will care), but it’s going to be a nice night (I hope).

I’m pretty excited.

I hope to see some of you tonight! If you don’t have the address to said 7pm speakeasy event, don’t forget to RSVP so I can message it to you.

and now, Joyce’s vibe

and remember

You don’t have to be at the event to get the book. I do hope you’ll join in the fun and get Joyce. It’s available everywhere through this link and my current store here. If you want to wait and get the paperback from me, I’ll ship them as soon as they arrive.

Until next time, harness the Little darknesses and embrace the Little things.
