While you wait...

Morning darklings,

I am so exhausted from a weeklong retreat I had to cut off early. A lot of clarity came from the trip, along with some serious back pain (just keeping it real).

It yielded a lot of creativity, but not in the form I expected. It seems that the beach is where I am the most productive in writing. There is an element of magic to crashing waves and a constantly changing landscape and nights that make me feel small under a blanket of stars I did not realize was needed for me to sit down and lock myself into The Work.

In the woods, my brain floated, my eyes watered, and I was thoughtful. I laughed with friends, I made art, I watched a movie, and I stared out towards the tree line and watched the sun set. I created a larger thing filled with multiple small and medium things that brings me extreme joy. Hopefully you’ll like as well.

So definitely not bad, just different.

You don’t know what you don’t know, as my dad says. And now, I know.

In order to write tens of thousands of words in a short period of time, I need briny air and a view of the most majestic, dangerous force on earth—the ocean. (Is that a true statement? I don’t know. But it feels true.)

I cannot wait to share more with you next week—photos, insights, plans, the whole deal. But today, all I have are memes. ❤️
